For several years, Damien Luce has been developing diverse aspects of his art : music, drama, literature. Born\u00a0in 1978, he pursued his piano studies with Billy Eidi at the Conservatoire Sup\u00e9rieur de Paris and with\u00a0Herbert Stessin at the Juilliard School of Music in New York. In addition, he studied chamber music with\u00a0Bruce Brubaker, Harvey Shapiro and Andre Emilianov, conducting with Laurent Petitgirard and\u00a0orchestration with Alain Louvier. Damien Luce is prizewinner of numerous competitions in France, including the French Young Musicians Competition (1991), the Leopold Bellan piano competition (1993), and\u00a0the Claude Kahn piano competition (1994). In June 2000, he was chosen as alternate winner of the Aspen Music Festival concerto competition. In 1999, he was the recipient of the Villecroze Academy Scholarship. In\u00a02001, he was asked to perform for Murray Perahia\u2019s Master Class at the Juilliard School.<\/p>\n

Mr. Luce likes to explore unknown works of the piano repertoire and to share his discoveries : his programs include S\u00e9verac, Liadov, Kirchner and Mompou as well as more well-known composers such as Chopin, Mozart or Schumann. His passion for literature often leads him to use a poetical theme (Nature, Childhood, Mythology\u2026), in order to combine works from various eras and styles, and to emphasize the links between different forms of art.Damien Luce is also a composer. In may 2006, he performed his Suite Le Baron perch\u00e9 (\u201cThe Baron in the Trees\u201d) for the French radio.<\/span><\/p>\n

As an actor, Damien Luce studied at the Alain De Bock drama studio, where he worked on authors such as Racine (Pyrrhus and Oreste in Andromaque), Antiochus in B\u00e9r\u00e9nice), Claudel (Mesa in Le Partage de midi), Marivaux (Arlequin in Arlequin poli par l\u00e2\u20acTMamour), Anouilh (The King in Becket) Romains (Knock), Albee<\/span>\u00a0(George in Who is afraid of Virginia Wolf ?), Ribes (George in Les Cent Pas). He has experience in musical theater, improvisation and clown (Fabrice Sal\u00e9). During the summer 2011, Damien Luce attends the intensive summer workshop at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (New York), where he studies with Steven Ditmyer (Meisner technic), John Baylis (vocal production), Sheila Bandyopadhyay (movement), Lester Shane (voice & speach), Larry Collis (camera acting), Mary Workman (Improvisation). Damien Luce also graduated from the Michael Howard Studios summer conservatory. He studied with David Wells (Voice), Angela Pietropinto (Scene Study), Fay Simpson (Lucid Body), Virginia Scott (Clown), Polina Klimovitskaya\u00a0(Kinetics), Andrew Shaifer, Gabrielle Berberich (TV and movie acting) and Patsy Rodenburg. !<\/span>
\nIn the Fall 2007, he directed and performed is play, Almost too serious, with Marie Anaf. In 2009, he\u00a0performed in a production dedicated to the French Poet Jean de La Fontaine. He also composed the original music for the show.<\/span>
\nDamien Luce is a writer.
